So everyone knows about the Disney Pook-a-Looz plushes right?

Pook-a-Looz are roughly ten inch plushes made in a very cute and stylistic way. When I hold a Pook-a-Looz, I’m immediately drawn to the large (and sometimes tiny) eyes that really make the plush come to life. Some of the plushes like the Red Queen and Chester the Cat really emote themselves through their large and animated mouths. It’s a big contrast with the other collections of pook-a-looz where mouths are omitted. These pook-a-looz plushes give the feeling of innocence and really strike at the child-like “cuteness” feeling the designers were trying to convey.

You can find these at Disney Stores or at I find these plushes pretty cheap. You can get most of these for 9.99. I feel like that’s a pretty good deal for the amount of detail you get for these. I forget what kind of real value things are – it makes me feel pretty guilty and arrogant for buying clothes and products that cost way too much.

I can purchase a kid’s t-shirt for 12 bucks. My “designer” t-shirts cost $30. The jeans I normally wear sell for $225 retail (I’ve never bought them at full price! Never more than $100!). Hard to think how much margin each plush or tshirt makes and how that profit must be shared amount so many parts of the construction, licensing, and marketing elements.

Anyway, I digress. This is my favorite Pook-a-Looz plush:

Kermit is awesome – look at all the unique detail! I find the smile really brings Kermit to life. This is the Kermit I remember from childhood.

At a recent sample sale, I managed to find a very unique Pook-a-looz. I’d actually seen it before when I visited my friend working in Toys. It was pinned up to the wall, and was a candidate to be sent to the production line.

I was digging in giant pile of plush, when my friend pulled out a Tron Pook-a-looz. She threw it at my face and I quickly snatched it up. I showed this to my co-w0rker, a giant Tron fan, and he instantly became enraged as I told him that it might possibly be the one out of two samples that existed in the world. He went straight to the sample sale, and managed to find the other Tron pook-a-looz. So there you have it, Clu and Master Controller together at last.

*Edit : I don’t think these Tron Pook-a-Looz will go into production. A source has told me that these were never picked up by a retailer. I can see why.
